Microsoft announced in March<\/strong><\/a> that it will\u00a0deliver an Anniversary Update for Windows 10 in the coming months, with reports suggesting<\/strong><\/a> that the company is aiming to have the update out by the end of July.<\/p>\n

Microsoft said at the time the update will bring an array of changes to Windows 10,\u00a0including\u00a0support for\u00a0Windows Hello\u2019s biometric authentication to apps – such as\u00a0the Edge browser.<\/p>\n

Microsoft also announced the launch of\u00a0Linux Bash support, which will\u00a0integrate the Bash command line shell and support for Ubuntu Linux binaries into Windows 10.<\/p>\n

The company has now released it latest\u00a0Preview Build<\/strong><\/a> of Windows (14352), which – combined with the new features<\/strong><\/a> announced for the operating system – provides insight into what users can expect when the Anniversary Update arrives.<\/p>\n

The expected new features are detailed below.<\/p>\n

Windows Ink and\u00a0Cortana\"Windows<\/a><\/h3>\n

Windows Ink lets you use a pen or finger to edit documents in Office apps, access features like Sticky Notes, and draw graphs and charts.<\/p>\n

A new Ink\u00a0feature in Build\u00a014352 is a compass update to the Windows Ink Ruler. If the ruler is oriented in the direction of a cardinal point or midpoint, the compass indicator will become bold.<\/p>\n

Updates to Cortana will lets users login using their voice, and allow certain functions before users have logged into Windows.<\/p>\n

New Cortana features in Build\u00a014352 let users:<\/p>\n

  • Play music from the\u00a0Groove Music Catalogue<\/li>\n
  • Set, cancel, and query a timer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    New Start Menu and icons<\/h3>\n

    Changes to the Start Menu will roll out with the Anniversary Update, which includes\u00a0the All Apps list being brought to the forefront, while Settings and Account details will be hidden in a hamburger menu.<\/p>\n
