Microsoft Edge is better than Chrome and Firefox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft&#8217;s Edge Internet browser is more power efficient than\u00a0Chrome, Firefox, and Opera on Windows 10 devices, said the company.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windowsexperience\/2016\/06\/20\/more-battery-with-edge\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Microsoft conducted power-efficiency tests<\/strong><\/a> on the browsers, with the aim of showing laptop and tablet users that they can get more out of their battery life with Edge.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our testing and data show that you can simply browse longer with Microsoft Edge,&#8221; said Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft measured the browsers&#8217;\u00a0power consumption across three dimensions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a controlled lab environment.<\/li>\n<li>Using real-world energy telemetry.<\/li>\n<li>Using time-lapse videos of each browser performing the same tasks until the battery dies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Edge won in all three, said Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We continue to focus on power efficiency with regular updates to Windows 10, and the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will include even more power-saving improvements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Power consumption compared<\/h3>\n<p>The graph below shows the CPU, GPU, and Wi-Fi power consumption of a\u00a0Surface Book when the tested browsers were set to execute the same series of activities.<\/p>\n<p>Websites used included Facebook, Google, YouTube, Amazon, and Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p><a from millions of Windows 10 devices in its tests, and found that Edge delivered a lower power draw than Chrome and Firefox.<\/p>\n<p><a sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The video below details Microsoft&#8217;s time-lapse test.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Edge lasted 70% longer than Chrome, 43% longer than Firefox,
