A small group of Democratic Alliance supporters gathered outside of the SABC’s Auckland Park buildings on Tuesday, calling for the removal of COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng.<\/p>\n

The group held signs reading “Hlaudi must go” and “Stop the ‘sANc’.”<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, DA leader Mmusi Maimane said that Motsoeneng only wanted good news to be broadcast on television.<\/p>\n

“Imagine if it was 1976 and he was in charge. We would never have known about the Soweto uprisings,” Maimane said.<\/p>\n

Maimane said that their problem was not just with Motsoeneng, but also President Jacob Zuma.<\/p>\n

“Jacob en Hlaudi moet gaan (Jacob and Hlaudi must go),” he added.<\/p>\n

DA Gauteng leader John Moodey said Motsoeneng, and other people trying to censor the SABC, were like ostriches.<\/p>\n

“Ons is mos nie dom nie (We are not dumb). They are ostriches. You know what an ostrich does when he senses danger? He stick his head in the sand.”<\/p>\n
