Akamai has published its Q1 2016 State of the Internet report, which shows that Chrome Mobile is the most popular mobile browser in the world.<\/p>\n

The Akamai State of the Internet Report draws data from Akamai IO, which collects data on browser usage across PC and mobile devices.<\/p>\n

Chrome Mobile was the leading browser throughout the first quarter of 2016.<\/p>\n

At the start of the quarter, Mobile Safari comprised approximately 35% of requests over cellular connections, trailing Chrome Mobile by less than one percentage point.<\/p>\n

Chrome also held a 14 percentage point lead over Android Webkit.<\/p>\n

Over the quarter, both Safari and Webkit lost ground while Chrome steadily gained.<\/p>\n

At the end of the quarter, Chrome was beating Safari by nearly 11 percentage points and besting Webkit by nearly 26 percentage points.<\/p>\n
