Two men were allegedly lying down in the back of the car.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post warned Uber commuters to make sure the car\u2019s licence plate matches the one they were sent on their phone.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Uber safety tips<\/h3>\n<p>Uber said it is committed to the safety of its users and drivers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why Uber strives to constantly better our safety features and offer these safety features in-app,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>Uber urged riders to make use of these features for their own security.<\/p>\n<p>Tips on how to keep safe when using Uber are detailed below.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Know your driver<\/h3>\n<p>The Uber app provides riders with the details of their driver\u00a0for their\u00a0trip.<\/p>\n<p>Verify your\u00a0driver is the same driver who\u00a0accepted the ride request via the app.<\/p>\n<p>Riders should check the driver\u2019s name and photo, vehicle type, and licence plate number.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Uber-driver.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-172191 size-new-size\" src=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Uber-driver-640x359.jpg\" alt=\"Uber driver\" width=\"640\" height=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Uber-driver-640x359.jpg 640w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Uber-driver-768x430.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Uber-driver.jpg 851w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Track the trip<\/h3>\n<p>Riders should make use of Uber\u2019s GPS features to track a trip by viewing the route on the map in the app.<\/p>\n<p>The rider is able to track the vehicle on the way to pick them up.
