The South African Post Office\u2019s parcel tracking website is not working as expected, leaving many customers frustrated.<\/p>\n

MyBroadband has received information that the tracking portal gives users a security warning when accessed, which has been blamed on an improperly-configured website.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website,\u201d states the\u00a0Mozilla Firefox browser when directed to the tracking service.<\/p>\n

The \u201ctrack and trace\u201d service was not available to several users who attempted to access it.<\/p>\n

SA Post Office explains<\/h3>\n

The SA Post Office\u2019s Chief Information Officer Mthoko Mncwabe said they are aware that certain web browsers fail to recognise that the Post Office website\u2019s security certificates were issued by a valid authority, resulting in a security warning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe certificates are issued by the SA Post Office\u2019s Trust Centre, which is accredited by the South African Accreditation Authority, in terms of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002,\u201d said Mncwabe.<\/p>\n

He said the certificates are valid and the website\u00a0is\u00a0safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlans are underway to fix this issue by ensuring that the Trust Centre certificates are embedded in all major browsers and applications,\u201d said Mncwabe.<\/p>\n

This is part of a number of initiatives that are meant to improve the Trust Centre\u2019s electronic authentication products and services.<\/p>\n
