A student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology has landed in hot water after mistakenly sending a message containing a racial slur to the wrong WhatsApp group, Beeld reported<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead of sending the voice note referring to a fellow student as a \u201ck*****m**t\u201d to a friend, she sent it to a WhatsApp group of first-year students of which she is a member.<\/p>\n

A second Afrikaans voice note continued: \u201cSorry vir daai een. Een van die wit meisies het vir daai \u201ck*****m**t\u201d gese sjuut of so iets\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to a student council member, the racist message came to light around two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

A complaint has been laid with the university and it is currently investigating the incident as part of a disciplinary process.<\/p>\n

This debacle follows the Margaret van Wyk incident<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0where a wife sent a photo of her private parts, intended for her husband, to a hockey mothers\u2019 WhatsApp group.<\/p>\n

One of the group members reportedly took a screenshot of the image and posted it on social media.<\/p>\n

The image trended nationally, under the hashtag #margaretvanwyk.<\/p>\n
