{"id":179516,"date":"2016-09-13T20:37:45","date_gmt":"2016-09-13T18:37:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=179516"},"modified":"2016-09-13T21:28:33","modified_gmt":"2016-09-13T19:28:33","slug":"dont-install-ios-10-apple-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/179516-dont-install-ios-10-apple-users.html","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t install iOS 10: Apple users"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple iPhone and iPad users who are planning to update to <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/178428-apple-ios-10-coming-this-week-all-the-new-features.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>iOS 10<\/strong><\/a> should wait a few days before doing so, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/9\/13\/12904582\/apple-ios-10-iphone-update-fail\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Verge<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/thenextweb.com\/apple\/2016\/09\/13\/warning-ios-10-is-reportedly-screwing-up-peoples-phones\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Next Web<\/strong><\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2016\/09\/13\/ios-10-update-bricking-iphones-and-ipads\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>MacRumours<\/strong><\/a> reported that the update &#8211; which launched on 13 September &#8211; is causing problems for iPhone and iPad users.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of users have taken to social media to complain about the update, which:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asks users to plug their iOS device into a PC or Mac for a complete restore of the operating system.<\/li>\n<li>Results in users losing data due to\u00a0device restores.<\/li>\n<li>Putting devices into recovery mode or &#8220;bricking&#8221; the device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The publications advised users to wait a few days while Apple remedies the issues.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Update: Apple says issue fixed<\/h3>\n<p>Apple has issued a statement on iOS 10.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability.<\/p>\n<p>The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers.
