The curious model based on so-called tweets, text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the user’s profile page, with followers keeping track of these tweets, found favour with Internet users across the globe.<\/p>\n
Twitter has grown into an online communications powerhouse with an estimated 190 million users generating 65 million tweets a day.<\/p>\n
