{"id":181006,"date":"2016-09-29T07:14:12","date_gmt":"2016-09-29T05:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=181006"},"modified":"2016-09-29T07:15:29","modified_gmt":"2016-09-29T05:15:29","slug":"cloudflare-says-it-cannot-shut-down-pirate-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/181006-cloudflare-says-it-cannot-shut-down-pirate-sites.html","title":{"rendered":"Cloudflare says it cannot shut down pirate sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/torrentfreak.com\/cloudflare-we-cant-stop-pirate-sites-160927\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Cloudflare has asked a California federal court<\/strong><\/a> to dismiss ALS Scan\u2019s \u201cfacially invalid\u201d copyright complaint.<\/p>\n<p>In August porn site ALS Scan filed a lawsuit against Cloudflare, saying that the company is helping pirate sites stay online, which is hurting ALS\u2019 business.<\/p>\n<p>Among CloudFlare\u2019s best-known customers is The Pirate Bay, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>CloudFlare offers denial of service protection and content delivery network services that are used by many websites around the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problems faced by ALS are not limited to the growing presence of sites featuring infringing content, or \u2018pirate\u2019 sites.
