{"id":181172,"date":"2016-10-16T13:00:58","date_gmt":"2016-10-16T11:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=181172"},"modified":"2016-10-17T15:31:09","modified_gmt":"2016-10-17T13:31:09","slug":"mobile-browser-war-apple-vs-android-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/181172-mobile-browser-war-apple-vs-android-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Mobile browser war: Apple vs Android"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Akamai recently released its Q2 2016 State of the Internet report, which showed that Android browsers dominate mobile Internet requests globally.<\/p>\n<p>The Akamai report draws on data from Akamai IO, which collects information\u00a0on browser usage across PC and mobile devices connected via fixed and mobile networks.<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarter of 2016, Chrome Mobile retained its position as the leading browser &#8211; although it gained little ground.<\/p>\n<p>Mobile Safari requests comprised approximately 32% of requests over cellular at the beginning of the quarter, trailing Chrome Mobile by approximately 11 percentage points.<\/p>\n<p>Chrome also held a 26-point lead over Android Webkit.
