8ta today announced it will offer dedicated data plans for the iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G in South Africa beginning 4 February 2011. <\/p>\n
8ta’s data plans offer access to its 3G data network and all data plans will be available without a contract, providing the freedom to activate or cancel a plan at any time. <\/p>\n
Amith Maharaj, Managing Executive of 8ta said: “The prepaid data bundles will be offered at a preferential rate that is exclusive to iStore sales of the device. 8ta post paid data bundles for the iPad will be offered at a later stage.”<\/p>\n

iPad data prices<\/strong><\/p>\n 8ta launched three basic data plans for the iPad:<\/p>\n These prepaid iPad data bundles are valid until the end of the following calendar month, and all bundles carry an out-of-bundle rate of R1.00 per MB.<\/p>\n iPad users will be required to register on the 8ta iPad Web portal<\/a> to purchase iPad data bundles and to redeem their recharge vouchers online.<\/p>\n\n
