{"id":18271,"date":"2011-02-04T14:22:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-04T12:22:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-02-04T14:22:00","modified_gmt":"2011-02-04T12:22:00","slug":"cell-c-planned-upgrades-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/18271-cell-c-planned-upgrades-this-weekend.html","title":{"rendered":"Cell C planned upgrades this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/213919-Cell-C\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Cell C\">Cell C<\/a> is taking a number of their systems offline to upgrade their customer care and billing systems this weekend and is warning customers of &ldquo;hiccups, and possibly some interrupted service.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The upgrades are to &ldquo;enable better customer service, improved product packages, and a world class billing system&rdquo; and will take place on 5 and 6 February 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Cell C said that upgrades are timed such that potential service interruptions will happen mainly in the early hours of Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You may have some problems making calls, sending SMS or MMS, or getting balance enquiries,&rdquo; Cell C said.<\/p>\n<p>A timeline shows that the ability to recharge will be down and Cell C&#8217;s contact centres will be unreachable from 18h00 on Saturday evening, but should be up back at 09h00 on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Stores will close at 14h00 on Saturday and reopen at 12h00 on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Throughout the 20 hour period data will be safely migrated into the new systems,&rdquo; Cell C said. &ldquo;Large IT system upgrades can be risky, but the Cell C team has worked hard for months to minimise risks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/308499-Cell-C-planned-downtime-for-maintenance\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Cell C to go down for maintenance\"><strong>Cel<\/strong><strong>l C t<\/strong><strong>o go down for maintenance<\/strong><\/a> &lt;&lt; Comments and views<\/p>\n<p><em>UPDATE: The previous infographic we received was inaccurate.
