{"id":185560,"date":"2016-11-02T10:56:01","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T08:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=185560"},"modified":"2016-11-02T10:57:01","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T08:57:01","slug":"google-chrome-now-faster-on-windows-pcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/185560-google-chrome-now-faster-on-windows-pcs.html","title":{"rendered":"Google Chrome now faster on Windows PCs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google Chrome is now faster on Windows thanks to\u00a0Microsoft\u2019s Profile Guided Optimization technology.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.chromium.org\/2016\/10\/making-chrome-on-windows-faster-with-pgo.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Google said<\/strong><\/a> that with Chrome 53, the browser will be up to 15% faster on Windows.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;PGO uses data from runtime execution that track which functions are most common to guide optimisation,&#8221; said Google.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The nightly build process now produces a special version of Chrome that tracks how often functions are used.
