{"id":188764,"date":"2016-11-24T11:02:52","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T09:02:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=188764"},"modified":"2016-11-24T11:03:46","modified_gmt":"2016-11-24T09:03:46","slug":"huge-increase-in-ddos-attacks-in-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/188764-huge-increase-in-ddos-attacks-in-2016.html","title":{"rendered":"Huge increase in DDoS attacks in 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Akamai has released its Q3 2016 State of the Internet Security Report, which shows a huge increase in DDoS attacks across the world.<\/p>\n<p>The report uses data gathered from the Akamai Intelligent Platform and provides an analysis of the current cloud security and threat landscape.<\/p>\n<p>The report stated that looking at Q3 in 2016 versus the same period in 2015, there has been a 71% increase in total DDoS attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The largest attack of Q3 2016 measured 623Gbps.
