{"id":190068,"date":"2016-12-01T08:56:26","date_gmt":"2016-12-01T06:56:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=190068"},"modified":"2016-12-01T08:57:46","modified_gmt":"2016-12-01T06:57:46","slug":"pc-sales-to-improve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/190068-pc-sales-to-improve.html","title":{"rendered":"PC sales to improve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Worldwide PC shipments are forecast to decline by 6.4% year-over-year in 2016, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC).<\/p>\n<p>The IDC&#8217;s\u00a0Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker shows that this is an improvement\u00a0over August&#8217;s projection for a decline of 7.2% in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While IDC&#8217;s outlook for 2017 remains at -2.1% year-over-year growth, the absolute volumes are slightly higher based on stronger 2016 shipments,&#8221; said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idc.com\/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS41969516\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>IDC<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Q3 2016 saw a year-over-year decline in PC shipments of 4.6%.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Beyond 2016, the PC shipment outlook has been raised slightly &#8211;
