Afrihost has bought back its shares from MTN and the company is now owned by the original shareholders together with several new shareholders.<\/p>\n
In 2014, MTN bought a controlling stake in Afrihost for R408 million.<\/p>\n
In June 2016, MTN said<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0it was disposing of its 50.2% share in Afrihost to the executive management of the ISP for R325 million<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n MTN said that \u201cevolving market circumstances have resulted in MTN reviewing its ownership in Afrihost\u201d.<\/p>\n Gian Visser, Afrihost\u2019s CEO, said they have enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership with MTN over the years and they are grateful for everything MTN has\u00a0done for them.<\/p>\n “MTN will remain a key supplier of ours and we look forward to continue working with them for the years ahead,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n At the time, MTN and Afrihost said the transaction was subject to the fulfillment of applicable conditions relevant to the transaction.
