{"id":19377,"date":"2011-03-29T11:12:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-29T09:12:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-03-29T11:12:00","modified_gmt":"2011-03-29T09:12:00","slug":"red-vodacom-branding-emerges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/19377-red-vodacom-branding-emerges.html","title":{"rendered":"Red Vodacom branding emerges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom will rebrand in April 2011 with a look and feel which is closely aligned to its parent company Vodafone.<\/p>\n<p>There has been speculation that the name Vodacom will be replaced by Vodafone, but according to sources close to the company, this is not the case.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom is a very strong South African brand, and it is understood that Vodacom will be the first Vodafone operation which will keep its name when rebranding.<\/p>\n<p>All of Vodafone&rsquo;s global networks operate under the Vodafone brand &ndash; like Vodafone Australia and Vodafone New Zealand &ndash; which makes Vodacom unique in that it will remain Vodacom South Africa, despite being a Vodafone operation.<\/p>\n<p>The new logo resembles the Vodafone logo using both the font and the familiar &#8216;speech mark mark&#8217; logo, but with the Vodacom name.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/vodacom_red_619601246.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"New Vodacom Red Logo\" title=\"New Vodacom Red Logo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vodacom has already removed their traditional branding from many locations, and has started to rebrand places such as the Ponte Building in Hillbrow with their new red colour (<a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/photos\/showphoto.php\/photo\/22349\/title\/ponte-vodacom-red\/cat\/500\"><strong>Ponte building Vodacom branding image here<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It is also likely that the &ldquo;Power To You&rdquo; slogan will play a prominent role in the new Vodacom branding campaign.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/power_to_you_635541832.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vodacom recently lodged a <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/18187-Cell-Vodacom-Who-has-the-power.html\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Cell C vs Vodacom: Who has the power?\">complaint<\/a> with the Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (ASA)  against Cell C for using the term &lsquo;<a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/18213-Cell-puzzled-ASA-Power-You-ruling.html\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Cell C puzzled by ASA &lsquo;Power to You&rsquo; ruling\">Power to you<\/a>.&rsquo;<\/p>\n<p>Vodafone has been using the tagline &ldquo;Power to you&rdquo; in the company&rsquo;s global marketing campaign (which included South Africa) since 2009.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/322587-Red-Vodacom-branding-appears\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Red Vodacom branding emerges\"><strong>Red Vodacom branding emerges<\/strong><\/a> &lt;&lt; Comments and views<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom\u2019s new red branding, which displays a strong Vodafone look, is starting to show its face <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_sma_x_autopost_status":"idle","_sma_x_autopost_error":"","_sma_x_post_id":"","_sma_facebook_post_id":"","_sma_instagram_post_id":"","_sma_threads_post_id":"","_sma_x_attempts":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-19377","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-cellular"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19377"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=19377"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19377\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19377"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=19377"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=19377"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
