{"id":19489,"date":"2011-04-04T14:07:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-04T12:07:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-04-04T14:07:00","modified_gmt":"2011-04-04T12:07:00","slug":"cheaper-broadband-pricing-from-vodacom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/19489-cheaper-broadband-pricing-from-vodacom.html","title":{"rendered":"Cheaper broadband pricing from Vodacom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom has come under fire from consumers for not reducing their mobile data pricing, especially after Cell C entered the market with aggressively priced promotional data products.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom and MTN&rsquo;s mobile data bundle pricing have not changed much since early 2007, and despite giving data a longer lifetime and dropping out-of-bundle rates consumers feel that it is time for another big price cut.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom has previously indicated that they are looking at lower data prices, but also said that they cannot simply drop their broadband pricing by a large margin as this may cause a significant rise in data traffic which may negatively impact the overall customer experience.<\/p>\n<p>The company has however started to show signs of dropping their data rates.&nbsp; As part of the company&rsquo;s rebranding exercise it launched 24-month &lsquo;device-free&rsquo; broadband advanced data bundles which are more affordable than their current broadband advanced pricing.<\/p>\n<p>This promotion essentially reduces Vodacom&rsquo;s mobile data pricing as follows for subscribers using their own devices:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>500MB &#8211;
