{"id":197633,"date":"2017-02-07T12:48:06","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T10:48:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=197633"},"modified":"2017-02-07T12:49:57","modified_gmt":"2017-02-07T10:49:57","slug":"apple-preparing-for-its-biggest-iphone-launch-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/smartphones\/197633-apple-preparing-for-its-biggest-iphone-launch-yet.html","title":{"rendered":"Apple preparing for its biggest iPhone launch yet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BlueFin Research Partners has spotted indications that Apple is\u00a0ramping up\u00a0production of the iPhone 8 (or iPhone X) earlier than expected, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.barrons.com\/techtraderdaily\/2017\/02\/06\/apple-building-iphone-8-earlier-than-normal-it-would-appear-says-bluefin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barron&#8217;s reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With no sign there will be a\u00a0change in the release date of the device, the assumption is that Apple expects\u00a0its next iPhone to sell faster than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Builds have been pulled in a few months while aggregate next generation forecasts have increased 10% from last month to 122 million. Additionally, Apple\u00a0has adjusted iPhone 7, 7 Plus, and SE production downward in preparation for the next generation launch,&#8221; said BlueFin.<\/p>\n<p>The report said the\u00a0supply chain focus remains on the &#8220;tremendous anticipation&#8221; for an iPhone 8\/X super cycle, intertwined with some mid-year transition hurdles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Interestingly, our present reads suggest a 300% increase in iPhone 8\/X builds in the June quarter, now sitting at 9 million.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a result, overall June quarter builds have increased from 45 million to 48 million, with the sharp increase in iPhone 8 offset somewhat by modest declines in legacy models.
