The number of 3G\/HSDPA handsets has also nearly trebled from 356 000 in September 2006 to 945 000 by September 30 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Contract customers accounted for most of the data card users. Vodacom announced that its 3G\/HSDPA mobile data card contract connections increased by 170.2% over the last 12 months to 149 000, up from 69 000.<\/p>\n<p>The company&rsquo;s drastic price cuts earlier this year &ndash; as much as 61% in some cases &ndash; clearly contributed to the steep increase in HSDPA subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>The company&rsquo;s popular Vodafone live!
