{"id":2007,"date":"2007-11-19T10:44:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-19T08:44:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2007-11-19T10:44:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-19T08:44:00","slug":"10-mbps-adsl-by-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/2007-10-mbps-adsl-by-2011.html","title":{"rendered":"10 Mbps ADSL by 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Speaking at the company&rsquo;s recent interim results presentation Telkom CEO Reuben September said that they are planning to increase ADSL peak speeds from the current 4 Mbps to 10 Mbps by 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The company is further planning to achieve a 15-20% ADSL penetration rate of fixed access lines by 2011. Telkom announced that it has already increased its ADSL footprint to 2 501 DSLAMs and added that there was a 76.2% growth in ADSL subscriptions from Sept 2006 to Sept 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The Telkom CEO pointed out that they are on target to reach 420 000 ADSL users by March 2008.
