{"id":20112,"date":"2011-05-06T12:47:00","date_gmt":"2011-05-06T10:47:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-05-27T19:14:39","modified_gmt":"2011-05-27T19:14:39","slug":"telkom-adsl-speed-upgrades-begin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/20112-telkom-adsl-speed-upgrades-begin.html","title":{"rendered":"Telkom ADSL speed upgrades begin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MyBroadband recently reported that <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/19860-Telkom-set-upgrade-ADSL-speeds.html\">Telkom was planning to upgrade<\/a> 512Kbps ADSL subscribers\u2019 speeds to 1Mbps.<\/p>\n<p>To date Telkom did not provide details about the planned DSL512 speed upgrades, but the company did confirm that the upgrade was on the table.<\/p>\n<p>Telkom CEO <a title=\"Pinky Moholi profile\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/210092-Pinky-Nombulelo-Moholi\">Pinky Moholi<\/a> also told MyBroadband in March 2011 that they are looking at enhancing their DSL512 offering, and a free upgrade to 1 Mbps therefore makes perfect sense.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/332040-Telkom-512-Kbps-upgrades-to-1-Mbps\">Some 512 Kbps ADSL subscribers have now informed MyBroadband<\/a> that their lines have been upgraded to 1Mbps. Uplink speeds were also upgraded &#8211; from the usual 256Kbps to 512Kbps.<\/p>\n<p>One DSL512 subscriber based in Cape Town\u2019s City Bowl region reported that his line had been bumped up to 1Mbps last night.
