{"id":202848,"date":"2017-03-15T15:14:41","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T13:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=202848"},"modified":"2017-03-15T15:20:54","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T13:20:54","slug":"crystal-web-mobile-apn-issues-resolved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/202848-crystal-web-mobile-apn-issues-resolved.html","title":{"rendered":"Crystal Web Mobile &#8211; APN issues resolved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crystal Web launched its mobile service in February &#8211; offering customers access to Vodacom&#8217;s last-mile mobile network, which then breaks out to the Internet through Crystal Web.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom customers are able to switch to Crystal Mobile\u00a0by changing their APN details.<\/p>\n<p>Certain customers said they experienced issues connecting to the Crystal Web APN following the launch, with their Vodacom data being consumed when a session was initiated.<\/p>\n<p>Crystal Web CEO Shaun Kaplan said if a client&#8217;s Vodacom data is being used, as opposed to their Crystal Web data, it is because they are not connected to the correct APN.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was an issue for a few customers when we initially launched where some contract customers were not provisioning over the Vodacom network correctly,&#8221; said Kaplan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This was widespread and didn&#8217;t only impact Crystal Web. However, the timing was certainly unfortunate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This was resolved by Vodacom in a few days and there have not been any new issues since,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kaplan said their mobile offering is a new product and they have identified that certain staff members\u00a0are not &#8220;as comfortable with the support process as we&#8217;d like them to be&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As management, we personally noted these concerns and monitored for areas we can improve, and have already embarked on additional training for all client-facing staff in this regard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Check your APN<\/h3>\n<p>If users are experiencing issues with connecting to the Crystal Web APN or their mobile data not being used as expected, they can contact the ISP.<\/p>\n<p>A guide for switching a device to the\u00a0Crystal Mobile Data APN is below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iOS 9 and 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tap on Settings.<\/li>\n<li>Select Cellular.<\/li>\n<li>Select Cellular Data Options.
