{"id":203360,"date":"2017-03-20T08:25:49","date_gmt":"2017-03-20T06:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=203360"},"modified":"2017-03-20T08:28:58","modified_gmt":"2017-03-20T06:28:58","slug":"intel-unveils-super-fast-ssds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/203360-intel-unveils-super-fast-ssds.html","title":{"rendered":"Intel unveils super-fast SSDs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.intel.com\/news\/intel-introduces-worlds-most-responsive-data-center-solid-state-drive\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Intel has unveiled<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0its Optane SSD DC P4800X Series with Intel memory drive technology.<\/p>\n<p>The new SSDs are aimed at data centres and can potentially\u00a0transform storage and memory architectures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeployed as blazing fast storage or caching tier, Intel Optane SSD DC P4800X breaks the confines of traditional storage to significantly increase scale per server and accelerate applications,\u201d said Intel.<\/p>\n<p>When deployed as extended memory, the drive expands the system memory pool &#8211; creating bigger, more cost-effective memory to gain higher-quality insights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA combination of high throughput, low latency, high quality of service, and high endurance enable the creation of solutions that remove data bottlenecks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0will drive new solutions with applications such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, faster trading, and deeper insights into medical scans, said Intel.<\/p>\n<p>The Intel Optane SSDs (375GB) are available now.
