{"id":204102,"date":"2017-03-24T10:38:18","date_gmt":"2017-03-24T08:38:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=204102"},"modified":"2017-03-24T10:40:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-24T08:40:09","slug":"iphone-and-mac-hacks-in-wikileaks-doc-are-old-fixed-apple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/204102-iphone-and-mac-hacks-in-wikileaks-doc-are-old-fixed-apple.html","title":{"rendered":"iPhone and Mac hacks in WikiLeaks doc are old, fixed &#8211; Apple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WikiLeaks released documents recently as part of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wikileaks.org\/ciav7p1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vault 7<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0which revealed the CIA had tools to exploit vulnerabilities in iPhones and Macs.<\/p>\n<p>Apple has now responded to the release, stating that the listed vulnerabilities in the leaks are old and have been fixed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Based on our initial analysis, the alleged iPhone vulnerability affected iPhone 3G only and was fixed in 2009 when iPhone 3GS was released,&#8221; said Apple.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Additionally, our preliminary assessment shows the alleged Mac vulnerabilities were previously fixed in all Macs launched after 2013.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Apple said it has not negotiated with WikiLeaks for any information.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have given them instructions to submit any information they wish through our normal process under our standard terms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thus far, we have not received any information from them that isn\u2019t in the public domain.
