{"id":204748,"date":"2017-03-29T08:30:27","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T06:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=204748"},"modified":"2017-03-29T08:31:47","modified_gmt":"2017-03-29T06:31:47","slug":"new-website-for-google-open-source","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/204748-new-website-for-google-open-source.html","title":{"rendered":"New website for Google Open Source"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/opensource.googleblog.com\/2017\/03\/a-new-home-for-google-open-source.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Google has launched<\/strong><\/a> a new <a href=\"https:\/\/opensource.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Open Source website<\/strong><\/a> which provides information on how it uses, releases, and supports open source.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new site showcases the breadth and depth of our love for open source,\u201d said Google&#8217;s Will Norris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will contain the expected things: our programs, organisations we support, and a comprehensive list of open source projects we&#8217;ve released.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Google Open Source website will also contain a look at how the company &#8220;does&#8221; open source.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo provide a more complete picture, we are launching a directory of our open source projects which we will expand over time,\u201d said Norris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor many of these projects we are also adding information about how they are used inside Google.
