Scientist Janelle Shane\u00a0has created a neural network<\/a><\/strong> which generates pick-up lines that are \u201ckind of adorable\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt occurred to me that the same neural network framework I\u2019ve trained on recipes, superhero names, and Irish tune names might be able to write pick-up lines as well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cGathering the dataset was much more painful than I had expected – I hadn\u2019t really read many of these before, and most were obscene, or aggressive.”<\/p>\n

She said that although the network figured out the basic forms \u201cYou must be a \u2026 because\u2026.\u201d or \u201cHey baby, wanna\u2026\u201d, it never learned to generate the worst lines.<\/p>\n

Several\u00a0of the pick-up lines the network generated are posted below.<\/p>\n
