{"id":207168,"date":"2017-04-18T12:56:28","date_gmt":"2017-04-18T10:56:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=207168"},"modified":"2017-04-18T12:58:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-18T10:58:00","slug":"biggest-online-shops-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/207168-biggest-online-shops-in-south-africa.html","title":{"rendered":"Biggest online shops in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new research report by Euromonitor International titled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.euromonitor.com\/internet-retailing-in-south-africa\/report\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Internet Retailing in South Africa<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has revealed that Takealot is the largest online shop in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The report said Takealot\u2019s market share in Internet retailing continues to be supported by its wide selection of products across several categories, as well as its range of delivery options.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, Internet retailing in South Africa continued to generate strong growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrent value sales increased by 23% in 2016 to reach R8.1 billion, and the growth recorded in 2016 was slightly higher than what was seen during the preceding year,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last five years, online shopping revenues more than doubled &#8211;
