Amazon has\u00a0opened the\u00a0technology which powers\u00a0its Alexa voice assistant, Amazon Lex, to developers.<\/p>\n

Lex has been in preview since 2016, and will allow developers to\u00a0include\u00a0chat features\u00a0in\u00a0their apps.<\/p>\n

This is in support of Amazon’s vision of being able to control almost any software using voice commands.<\/p>\n

Text and voice queries sent to Lex, as with Alexa, will be used to train the artificial intelligence that powers the speech and natural language processing of the service.<\/p>\n
