{"id":210356,"date":"2017-05-11T14:55:59","date_gmt":"2017-05-11T12:55:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=210356"},"modified":"2017-05-11T14:58:19","modified_gmt":"2017-05-11T12:58:19","slug":"nvidia-launches-revolutionary-volta-gpu-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/210356-nvidia-launches-revolutionary-volta-gpu-platform.html","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia launches &#8220;revolutionary&#8221; Volta GPU platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nvidia has launched <a href=\"http:\/\/nvidianews.nvidia.com\/news\/nvidia-launches-revolutionary-volta-gpu-platform-fueling-next-era-of-ai-and-high-performance-computing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Volta<\/strong><\/a>, &#8220;the world&#8217;s most powerful GPU computing architecture&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The platform was designed to\u00a0drive the next wave of advancement in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, said Nvidia.<\/p>\n<p>The company also announced its first Volta-based processor, the Nvidia\u00a0Tesla V100 data cente GPU, which brings &#8220;extraordinary speed and scalability for AI inferencing and training&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Volta is Nvidia&#8217;s seventh-generation GPU architecture, and is built with 21 billion transistors.
