The programming language Kotlin is the “hot new thing”, according to the Tiobe Index<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for June 2017.<\/p>\n

The index stated that Google announcing Kotlin as the\u00a0third official programming language for Android coincided with it climbing into its top 50 ranking, coming in at number 43.<\/p>\n

“Hack and Rust are moving up in the top 50 as well,” stated the report.<\/p>\n

The top 10 lists of the Tiobe Index and PYPL ranking<\/strong><\/a> saw familiar languages at the top, with Java coming in first place in both instances.<\/p>\n

Calculating the rankings<\/h3>\n

PYPL<\/strong> \u2013 The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.<\/p>\n

Tiobe<\/strong> \u2013 The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.<\/p>\n
