Webafrica<\/a><\/strong> and MWEB<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0have launched products on Rain’s LTE-A network, taking on Telkom fixed-LTE products.<\/p>\n

MWEB<\/strong><\/a> and Webafrica<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0advertised Rain\u2019s services following\u00a0Rain and Internet Solutions announcing their partnership to offer commercial LTE-A packages to local Internet service providers.<\/p>\n

Package pricing<\/h3>\n

A comparison of package pricing between Rain and Telkom is challenging, as Rain\u2019s services are sold on a month-to-month basis and exclude the router, while Telkom\u2019s are 24-month contracts which include a router.<\/p>\n

Webafrica and MWEB charge a “connection fee” for their Rain services, which includes a Huawei B618 router. Telkom\u2019s contracts include a Huawei E5186 router.<\/p>\n

Data on both networks expires at the end of a month.<\/p>\n

Out of bundle and top-ups<\/h3>\n

Webafrica, MWEB, and Telkom all hard cap you when you deplete your allocation of data.<\/p>\n

Telkom then lets you choose whether to pay a R0.29 per megabyte out-of-bundle tariff, or buy another data bundle.<\/p>\n

On Rain, you can choose between upgrading your package, or topping up.<\/p>\n

Rain top-ups are valid for 30 days, and Telkom FreeMe Boost bundles are valid for 31 days from the date of purchase.<\/p>\n

Standard Telkom bundles are valid until the end of the next calendar month.<\/p>\n
