{"id":218516,"date":"2017-07-06T10:48:17","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T08:48:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=218516"},"modified":"2017-07-06T10:49:27","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T08:49:27","slug":"notpetya-attackers-empty-bitcoin-wallet-and-issue-new-ransom-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/218516-notpetya-attackers-empty-bitcoin-wallet-and-issue-new-ransom-demand.html","title":{"rendered":"NotPetya attackers empty Bitcoin wallet and issue new ransom demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The attackers behind the NotPetya ransomware have emptied the Bitcoin wallet used to collect payments, and issued a new ransom demand.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/motherboard.vice.com\/en_us\/article\/8xagk4\/hackers-connected-to-notpetya-ransomware-surface-online-empty-bitcoin-wallet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Motherboard reported<\/a><\/strong> that someone has moved tokens worth over $10,000 from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blockchain.info\/address\/1Mz7153HMuxXTuR2R1t78mGSdzaAtNbBWX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Bitcoin wallet<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They also sent two smaller payments of 0.01 BTC each to Pastebin and DeepPaste.
