Many South African companies are making the most of their 404 pages using awesome images and messages.<\/p>\n

A 404 page, which appears when a user requests a page which cannot be found on a server, has been part of the Internet since the nineties.<\/p>\n

The 404 or Not Found error message is an HTTP standard response code, showing the client was able to communicate with a given server, but the server could not find what was requested.<\/p>\n

While many websites opt for the default 404 message – such as\u00a0\u201cNot Found \u2013 The requested URL was not found on this server\u201d or \u201cThe webpage cannot be found\u201d – it is possible to create a custom message.<\/p>\n
