{"id":225794,"date":"2017-08-23T16:48:44","date_gmt":"2017-08-23T14:48:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=225794"},"modified":"2017-08-23T16:50:33","modified_gmt":"2017-08-23T14:50:33","slug":"facebook-downtime-due-to-code-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/225794-facebook-downtime-due-to-code-change.html","title":{"rendered":"Facebook downtime due to code change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Facebook Inc. went down temporarily for some of its more than 2 billion global users after a technical error caused a glitch that blocked access to the social network.<\/p>\n<p>The issue &#8211; which appeared to be caused by a code change &#8211; affected a small number of users who were loading the site using a Chrome web browser from a desktop computer, Facebook said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarlier today some people may have had trouble accessing Facebook on the desktop version of Chrome for a short period of time,\u201d the company said. \u201cWe\u2019re back to 100% for everyone, and we\u2019re sorry for any inconvenience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outages are rare for Facebook, which has become a digital front page for people to read news, share information and communicate with friends and family.
