{"id":228501,"date":"2017-09-11T12:32:37","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T10:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=228501"},"modified":"2017-09-11T12:34:38","modified_gmt":"2017-09-11T10:34:38","slug":"google-chrome-63-will-detect-man-in-the-middle-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/228501-google-chrome-63-will-detect-man-in-the-middle-attacks.html","title":{"rendered":"Google Chrome 63 will detect Man-in-the-Middle attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google Chrome 63 will include new security features when its launches, including the ability to detect\u00a0Man-in-the-Middle attacks.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/google-chrome-will-soon-warn-you-of-software-that-performs-mitm-attacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bleeping Computer<\/strong><\/a>, Chrome will identify if\u00a0third-party software is performing the attack &#8211; which takes place when an application intercepts the user&#8217;s Internet traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Chrome will show users a warning screen when it detects a\u00a0Man-in-the-Middle attack. It will base the warning on the detection of a\u00a0large number of SSL connection errors in a short timespan.<\/p>\n<p>The report stated that this is a common sign an attack is taking place on HTTPS traffic, as most attacks fail to\u00a0correctly rewrite a user&#8217;s encrypted connections.<\/p>\n<p>Google is set to release Chrome 63 on 5 December.
