Java, C, and C++ remain the most popular programming languages in the world, according to the Tiobe Index<\/a><\/strong> for September 2017.<\/p>\n

The index stated that while the top three languages have not changed in the past 15 years, the gap to languages like Python and C# is closing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe general trend is that the pack is getting bigger. Applications that are written in a single programming language are getting rarer nowadays,\u201d stated the report.<\/p>\n

The PYPL ranking<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for September 2017 also showed Java at the top, with Python and PHP taking second and third respectively.<\/p>\n

Calculating the rankings<\/h3>\n

PYPL<\/strong> \u2013 The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.<\/p>\n

Tiobe<\/strong> \u2013 The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.<\/p>\n
