Project Fi, the MVNO available on Google’s smartphones, has inadvertently revealed plans to offer throttling options to allow subscribers to control their data spend.<\/p>\n
9to5Google reported<\/a><\/strong> that subscribers received notifications they would be throttled because of “excessive data usage”.<\/p>\n Google has since apologised and explained that the notifications were sent out in error.<\/p>\n “We’re experimenting with options for users to opt in to throttle their data in certain situations,” said Project Fi.<\/p>\n “We\u2019ve heard from many of you that it would be helpful to have greater control over data costs, so we\u2019re looking into adding more options to do this.
