{"id":231619,"date":"2017-10-04T10:59:07","date_gmt":"2017-10-04T08:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=231619"},"modified":"2017-10-04T11:00:45","modified_gmt":"2017-10-04T09:00:45","slug":"bots-flooded-net-neutrality-comments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/231619-bots-flooded-net-neutrality-comments.html","title":{"rendered":"Bots flooded net neutrality comments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gravwell.io\/blog\/discovering-truth-through-lies-on-the-internet-fcc-comments-analyzed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Gravwell analytics team<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has analysed the 22 million comments submitted to the FCC over net neutrality, and found that most of them came from bots.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, it scraped the entirety of the FCC comments and put them into the Gravwell platform.<\/p>\n<p>Gravwell made the following findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A small minority of comments are unique &#8211; 17.4%.<\/li>\n<li>The highest occurrence of a single comment was over 1 million.<\/li>\n<li>Most comments were submitted in bulk and many came in batches with incorrect information.<\/li>\n<li>Over 1 million comments in July claimed to have a pornhub.com email address.<\/li>\n<li>Bot herders can be observed launching the bots.
