{"id":232321,"date":"2017-10-07T15:33:17","date_gmt":"2017-10-07T13:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=232321"},"modified":"2017-10-08T08:53:53","modified_gmt":"2017-10-08T06:53:53","slug":"vodacom-network-down-and-disappearing-data-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/232321-vodacom-network-down-and-disappearing-data-reports.html","title":{"rendered":"Vodacom network down and disappearing data &#8211; Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Vodacom stated that data and USSD services have been restored.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Original article<\/strong>: Vodacom&#8217;s data network in multiple parts of Gauteng experienced downtime on Saturday afternoon, according to user reports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/downdetector.co.za\/status\/vodacom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Down Detector<\/strong><\/a> showed a spike in user downtime reports from around 14:00.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom Support&#8217;s Twitter page was flooded with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Vodacom111\/with_replies?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>complaints<\/strong><\/a> from users that they could not access data services or the *111# USSD menu.<\/p>\n<p>MyBroadband tested data services on the Vodacom network in the Northgate area at 14:00 and could not access websites or use smartphone applications.<\/p>\n<p>A Vodacom user added that their airtime and data was showing a zero balance, and asked if &#8220;vanishing data&#8221; problems had hit the network once again.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom replied to the user on Twitter, stating it was aware of the issue.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Connectivity issues<\/h3>\n<p>Vodacom told MyBroadband it is aware that certain customers are experiencing data connectivity issues and cannot access USSD services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our engineers are currently attending to the outage.
