Java, C, and C++ are the most popular programming languages in the world, according to the Tiobe Index<\/strong><\/a> for October 2017.<\/p>\n

C# and JavaScript have continued to gain in popularity among mobile developers at the expense of Java and Swift, it added.<\/p>\n

“Until recently, it was quite common to program Android apps in Java and iOS apps in Swift\/Objective-C,” stated the report.<\/p>\n

“This is quite cumbersome, because you have to maintain two code bases that are doing almost the same thing.”<\/p>\n

The PYPL rankings<\/strong><\/a> also showed Java at the top of the list, followed by Python and PHP.<\/p>\n

The top 10 programming languages for October, according to the Tiobe Index and PYPL rankings, are detailed below.<\/p>\n

Calculating the rankings<\/h3>\n

PYPL \u2013<\/strong> The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.<\/p>\n

Tiobe \u2013<\/strong> The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.<\/p>\n
