{"id":233039,"date":"2017-10-12T16:30:08","date_gmt":"2017-10-12T14:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=233039"},"modified":"2017-10-12T16:32:21","modified_gmt":"2017-10-12T14:32:21","slug":"virgin-hyperloop-one-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/motoring\/233039-virgin-hyperloop-one-announced.html","title":{"rendered":"Virgin Hyperloop One announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Virgin Group has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virgin.com\/richard-branson\/introducing-virgin-hyperloop-one-worlds-most-revolutionary-train-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>invested in Hyperloop One<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and rebranded the company Virgin Hyperloop One.<\/p>\n<p>With Virgin Hyperloop One, passengers and cargo will be loaded into a pod and accelerate gradually via electric propulsion through a low-pressure tube.<\/p>\n<p>Its tracks use magnetic levitation and the pod glides at airline speeds for long distances. Virgin Hyperloop One will also be all-electric.<\/p>\n<p>The technology for Hyperloop One is currently in the early stages of commercialisation, after the successful completion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/motoring\/219510-hyperloop-ones-successful-test-super-fast-journeys-are-getting-closer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>first full-scale hyperloop systems test<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During phase two of testing, the duration of the longest test was 10.6 seconds &#8211;
