Rain Mobile has launched an Alpha trial, which is the first phase of testing of its LTE-A mobile network in metropolitan areas.<\/p>\n
The Alpha version of Rain Mobile is only available to Rain staff, who have been provided with a Rain App and SIM.<\/p>\n
Once the Rain Alpha test has been successfully concluded, the trial will be extended to a select group of users outside the Rain business.<\/p>\n
As part of Rain\u2019s mobile plans, Outsurance CEO Willem Roos will take up the position of Rain Mobile CEO on 31 December 2017.<\/p>\n
The company also unveiled its new logo today – shown below – with a white, silver, and blue colour scheme to fit in with the visuals of natural clouds and rain.<\/p>\n
Rain Mobile is predicted to take on traditional mobile networks with data-centric packages, and will run alongside the company’s existing fixed-LTE-A packages – which are offered through local ISPs.<\/p>\n
