{"id":239,"date":"2007-06-12T07:03:21","date_gmt":"2007-06-12T05:03:21","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2007-06-12T07:03:21","modified_gmt":"2007-06-12T05:03:21","slug":"nokia-strikes-back-over-mobile-patents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/239-nokia-strikes-back-over-mobile-patents.html","title":{"rendered":"Nokia strikes back over mobile patents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font size=\"2\">Nokia said it had filed a complaint with a court in Texas to uphold its rights to six patents that it alleged Qualcomm was using in technology for broadcasting television on mobile telephones and for applications such as video games.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Nokia said in a statement: &quot;Qualcomm has in previous litigation sought injunctions against Nokia and therefore in this case Nokia is seeking both damages and injunctive relief.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">&quot;Nokia has a strong history of innovation in IP broadcast television and mobile download environments predating Qualcomm&#39;s activities,&quot; said Tero Ojanper&auml;, chief technology officer, Nokia.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Referring to the two applications challenged by Nokia, he alleged: &quot;This is another example where Qualcomm has effectively copied Nokia&#39;s innovations.
