{"id":239960,"date":"2017-12-30T15:29:41","date_gmt":"2017-12-30T13:29:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=239960"},"modified":"2017-12-31T14:43:50","modified_gmt":"2017-12-31T12:43:50","slug":"the-difference-between-catch-up-catch-up-plus-and-dstv-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/239960-the-difference-between-catch-up-catch-up-plus-and-dstv-now.html","title":{"rendered":"The difference between Catch Up, Catch Up Plus, and DStv Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DStv offers several on-demand video services to clients, depending on the package they subscribe to, as well as live TV channel streaming and movie rentals.<\/p>\n<p>These are branded as DStv Catch Up, Catch Up Plus, Now, and BoxOffice.<\/p>\n<p>The services offer a variety of content and streaming options to users &#8211; their similarities and differences are detailed below.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">DStv Catch Up<\/h3>\n<p>DStv Catch Up is a decoder-only service where series, movies, sports, and documentaries are \u201cpushed\u201d to PVR-capable decoders.<\/p>\n<p>It is available to DStv Compact, Compact Plus, and Premium subscribers, and the content varies based on what your DStv package offers.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribers must pay a monthly access fee of R85 for the service, which includes access to DStv Catch Up, PVR usage, and XtraView.<\/p>\n<p>The number of titles available varies from month to month, but MultiChoice said there is always at least up to 180 hours of content on the platform.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">DStv Catch Up Plus<\/h3>\n<p>Catch Up Plus offers an extended on-demand catalogue to DStv Premium subscribers with an Internet-connected Explora decoder &#8211; including those with a Wi-Fi Connector.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the DStv Catch Up Plus library, the Wi-Fi Connector also lets you set recordings on your Explora remotely.<\/p>\n<p>MultiChoice said Catch Up Plus has approximately 2,500 hours of content.
