MTN is improving its network capacity across the country in anticipation of the festive season.<\/p>\n
The operator is boosting its capacity in tourist hotspots, high-traffic rural areas, and along major freeways.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are constantly monitoring our network performance to ensure stable and seamless connectivity,” said MTN.<\/p>\n
“Senior management and regional staff are on standby to quickly attend to any technical issues as our priority is keeping all our customers connected to the brightest holiday possible,” the company said.<\/p>\n
MTN is rolling out new base stations and performing upgrades on existing 3G and LTE stations in hotspots and remote areas.<\/p>\n
MTN will also keep track of large New Year\u2019s Eve events and will add mobile base stations to reduce the midnight congestion if required.<\/p>\n
The network improvements will also provide LTE coverage from St Lucia down to the Wild Coast in addition to a 50% capacity boost in central business areas.<\/p>\n
Network upgrades are being undertaken on approximately 200 LTE sites and over 100 3G sites upgrades in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Rustenburg.<\/p>\n
“We are constantly enhancing our network, improving the quality, the data speeds and our reach across the country,” said MTN.<\/p>\n
“These holiday boosts will help make sure that quality experience stays in place, no matter where our customers travel.”<\/p>\n
