Java, C, and C++ remain the most popular programming languages in the world, according to the\u00a0Tiobe Index<\/a><\/strong> for March 2018.<\/p>\n

Other popular languages include Python, C#, and JavaScript, according to the Tiobe and PYPL rankings.<\/p>\n

A returning entry into the Tiobe top 10 rankings is Ruby, a language which originally became popular among web application developers.<\/p>\n

Tiobe said it has also added SQL to the index, due to the fact that the language is now Turing-complete.<\/p>\n

The PYPL rankings<\/a><\/strong> also showed Java at the top of the list, followed by Python and JavaScript.<\/p>\n

The top 10 programming languages for March 2018, according to the Tiobe Index and PYPL Ranking, are detailed below.<\/p>\n

Calculating the rankings<\/h3>\n

PYPL \u2013<\/strong> The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.<\/p>\n

Tiobe \u2013<\/strong> The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.<\/p>\n
