{"id":2545,"date":"2008-01-17T07:06:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-17T05:06:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-01-17T07:06:00","modified_gmt":"2008-01-17T05:06:00","slug":"telecoms-stocks-hit-hard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/2545-telecoms-stocks-hit-hard.html","title":{"rendered":"Telecoms stocks hit hard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The international financial institution, Citigroup, suffered losses which set off a chain reaction causing&nbsp;many global markets to trade sharply lower, and local tech stocks were not spared.<\/p>\n<p>Telkom &ndash; which hit an all time high a few months ago of over R 190 per share, closed at R 129, a 52 week low. <\/p>\n<p>MTN also closed lower at R 113.50 per share, far below its 52 week high of R 137.60.<\/p>\n<p>Vox Telecom however defied international market trends, up nearly 2% yesterday on R 2.15.
