{"id":254963,"date":"2018-04-06T08:01:15","date_gmt":"2018-04-06T06:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=254963"},"modified":"2018-04-06T08:02:35","modified_gmt":"2018-04-06T06:02:35","slug":"windows-on-snapdragon-will-get-64-bit-support-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/254963-windows-on-snapdragon-will-get-64-bit-support-this-year.html","title":{"rendered":"Windows on Snapdragon will get 64-bit support this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft will announce a software development kit for 64-bit apps on its Windows on Snapdragon platform at its Build conference in May, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2018\/04\/05\/microsoft-windows-arm-pc-64-bit-sdk-build\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Engadget reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The SDK will allow developers to recompile their 64-bit apps to run natively on PCs powered by ARM-based chips.<\/p>\n<p>Windows 10 on Snapdragon can also run existing 32-bit apps compiled for Intel and AMD chips &#8211; the x86 architecture.<\/p>\n<p>This is done through emulation.
